Find
Out How Humana Gained A Competitive Edge With Dental
And Vision Benefits
LOUISVILLE,
KY (Managed Care Wire): What do you do if you want
to broaden your dental and vision benefits offerings?
If you're Humana, you purchase dental and vision
benefits company CompBenefits - for $360 million.
Humana
decided to purchase CompBenefits after Humana experienced
an increase in profits and revenue for 2006, reports
The San Diego Tribune. After the acquisition is
complete, Humana will be able to offer its own vision
and dental care benefits; two benefits components
that are highly desired by your benes.
For
Humana, it's all about remaining competitive in
a tough market. Employers want to offer their employees
well-rounded plans, said Humana spokesman Dick Brown
in the Tribune article. The acquisition will help
Humana to do just that, by allowing them to expand
their dental offerings to dental HMO and dental
EPO products, and offer their own vision benefits,
rather than outsourcing to an outside vision-benefits
vendor, reports the Tribune.
